    Product description

Located in Marlborough, Pounamu is named after the treasured green stone that symbolises peace and is only found in the southern island of New Zealand. The wines are made by former Cloudy Bay winemaker Eveline Fraser, who is also the winemaker of Little Beauty.

Fermented with natural yeasts and aged for six months in oak barrels. Aromas of red plum, fresh cherry and raspberry with hints of earthiness. Juicy and ripe on the palate with soft tannins.

    About the producer: POUNAMU

Pounamu is an independent family-owned winery in the Waihopai Valley of Marlborough, New Zealand. The name Pounamu means greenstone or jade in Maori, a rare and treasured stone that symbolises peace and harmony. The winery produces a range of wines, grown at a single vineyard site that reflect the unique terroir of the valley, which is protected by the Southern Alps and has stony, free-draining soils. At the helm of the winemaking team is the wonderfully talented Eveline Fraser – a remarkable individual with exceptional attention to detail and extraordinary senses. The wines are 100% sustainable and express the vibrant, pure and flavourful character of Marlborough. View our selection.
