En Primeur Aligoté Paul Pillot 2017, Case of 12x75cl

En Primeur Aligoté Paul Pillot 2017 is not currently available to purchase.

With 13 hectares in Chassagne and St Aubin, Thierry Pillot makes sublime wines from Aligoté to 1er Cru Chassagne Montrachet. He and his sister Chrystelle (married to Alexandre Bachelet) are both charming and tasting with Thierry it’s easy to imagine his bright, lively personality carrying though into the wines. Minimum oak intervention and respect for the terroir, you are looking at sheer elegance throughout, minerality being the favoured expression.

“If there’s a reason Aligoté is still not viewed as a serious wine, I’m not sure what it is. From the best producers, this is undeniably one of the sweetest spots in the world of wine. Given the same care and attention as their Chardonnay, Pillot’s Aligoté is brilliantly pure, crisp with a spicy mineral character. This is simply fantastic and at under £10 per bottle, probably the best value you’re going to see in 2017.” Davy’s Wine Merchants, November 2018.

Offered for sale ‘En Primeur’, in bond. Price shown is per case (12x75cl bottles) and excludes UK duty and VAT which will be charged at the prevailing rate when the wine lands in the UK.

BIN END Bourgogne Rouge 2010 Paul Pillot SOLD OUT

This Domaine produces wines that are excellent value for money. Since 2009 Thierry Pillot decided to pick early to retain acidity levels. His wine demonstrates real vivacity with juicy red fruits and a seamless structure.

Red berry fruits and earthy notes. Medium bodied with good acidity and a hint of minerality.

French still red wine from Cote de Beaune in Burgundy’s Cote d’Or (Bourgogne) France, made with Pinot Noir.

2011 Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Les Champs Gains Paul Pillot

Paul Pillot alongside his children Thierry and Chrystelle, brought a new perspective and renewed energy to the estate which has led to a step change in quality. He uses a mixture of barrique and larger barrels to mature his wine and rarely uses more than 20% of new oak.

Les Champs Gains is a ‘lieu dit’ (named vineyard site) which lies close to the village, just under Les Caillerets. The deep clay soil here brings depth and texture. A complex Chassagne with a ripe nose of spiced herbal tea, white flowers, pear and fennel leads to generously proportioned middle weight flavours with a rich mouth feel.  A hint of dry, leanness bolsters the pure and well-balanced finish with very good length.

2015 Saint Aubin 1er Cru Les Charmois Paul Pillot

Paul Pillot alongside his children Thierry and Chrystelle, brought a new perspective and renewed energy to the estate which has led to a step change in quality. He uses a mixture of barrique and larger barrels to mature his wine and rarely uses more than 20% of new oak.

Located behind the two ‘Montrachet’ villages, Saint-Aubin is a great source of fine wine. Citrus and biscuits on the nose with a hint of honey. The palate has crisp citrus aromas, followed by a slightly buttery texture. A great value white Burgundy from one of the regions top producers.
