Learn About Cabernet Sauvignon

The most famous and widely admired red grape in the world. Cabernet Sauvignon forms the major component in most, if not all, of the Cru Classé wines in the Medoc, Bordeaux, including the First Growths. This international grape variety is produced all over the world, and shows great results in California, Chile, South Africa and many more countries. View our range.

There is virtually no major red wine area where Cabernet Sauvignon cannot be found. Often blended with other varieties, but can be highly successful as a varietal. It produces wines with body, richness, acidity and firm tannins with a pronounced green bell pepper flavour. Pairs well with Merlot. Stands up well to, and benefits greatly from, ageing in oak, new or old.
