On May 18th members of the Wine Committee tasted an eclectic and varied selection of wines for summer drinking, presented by Celia Buridant from Davy’s. As a result we are delighted to offer Members a selection of twelve wines at a generous discount until August 5th 2016. Each wine can be purchased individually or via two specially created mixed cases. The “Club’s Tasting Mixed’’ case contains a Blanc de Noir Champagne, four white wines, four reds, a rose and two sweet wines.
The white selection includes a wonderfully dry Pouilly Fume from the Loire valley, a perfect accompaniment to seafood and an excellent example of a traditional Chablis. Possibly the star of the show is the ‘’declassified’’ Sauternes. This is produced by a Chateau that, due to the “declassification’’ laws cannot be identified. Suffice to say it cannot get any better or more famous!
The red wines were very interesting and albeit this is a “summer’’ offer, we have nevertheless created a “Club’s Red Wine Mixed’’ case comprising two bottles of six very varied reds. For traditionalists there is the L’Ecuyer du Moulin Rouge 2012 from the Haut Medoc and a 1er Cru Burgundy from Maranges. For those of a more adventurous persuasion we have a superb Sangiovese from Emilia di Romagna and cool climate Shiraz from the Adelaide Hills.
These twelve wines and/or mixed cases can be purchased via the link below and we trust that you will be as impressed as we were when tasting them on your behalf.
