Join us at Champagne Charlie’s, the iconic gem tucked beneath the historic arches of Charing Cross, for an evening celebrating the wines of Champagne Duménil. We are delighted to welcome owner-producer Frédérique Poret Duménil, who will be joining us for what promises to be an exceptional event.
The evening begins with a guided tasting led by Frédérique, followed by a four-course dinner enjoyed alongside her Champagne. Frédérique will be on hand throughout to share her insights and answer questions.
Founded in 1874 by Emile-Paul Duménil, Duménil is an independent Champagne house that has remained in family hands for five generations. Today, it is led by his great-granddaughter Frédérique and her husband, Hugues Poret-Duménil, whose shared dedication to vineyard and wine shapes every aspect of the estate. Frédérique is the creative force behind the blends, defining a style marked by precision, elegance and articulate terroir expression, underpinned by a deep respect for land and tradition. All of the domaine’s vineyards lie in the heart of the Montagne de Reims and, unusually for Champagne, are entirely Premier Cru.
After a welcome glass of Duménil Brut Réserve 1er Cru, Frédérique will introduce the history of the estate and the winemaking traditions of Champagne. She will share what makes Duménil so distinctive and special, before guiding you through a tasting of the domaine’s finest cuvées, including the exceptional Blanc de Blancs 1er Cru, Pécherines 1er Cru and the outstanding 2018 Millésimé 1er Cru. All wines tasted are shipped exclusively by Davy’s.
Please note, seating will be at a communal table. Tasting & talk from 6.30-7.30pm followed by a four-course dinner. We aim to wrap up the evening by around 9.30pm
