On Monday 14th September we are delighted to welcome Nico Grobler, owner & winemaker of La Brune, Elgin Valley to Davy’s. Elgin is considered the Burgundy of South Africa because it is the country’s coolest wine region, it’s high altitude and Atlantic breezes allow for the slow ripening that gives Chardonnay and Pinot Noir their signature elegance and freshness. Nico will be in the UK exclusively to join us at Champagne Charlies, Charing Cross for an unmissable tasting of his exceptional wines with a focus on fine Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Following on from the tasting, enjoy a three-course dinner alongside Nico’s The Valley and La Brune, showcasing the exceptional 2025 vintage and the distinct character of each range. Throughout the evening, Nico will share the story behind his wines, his journey from Burgundy to Elgin, and his philosophy of crafting wines that truly reflect their origin.

About La Brune
La Brune (French for ‘Brunette’) was created when Nico, multi-award winning winemaker, visited Burgundy and fell in love with Burgundian winemaking and the expression of their wines. Bringing this back to South African soil, his wines focus on finesse and purity of fruit. Nico and his wife Christelle set up their vineyard in Elgin Valley with the focus to craft naturally fresh and lifted wines with a passion for Pinot Noir in particular.
