La Brune Wines

La Brune is the project of acclaimed winemaker Nico Grobler, inspired by his time working in Burgundy and his passion for crafting elegant, terroir-driven Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Based in the cool-climate Elgin Valley, one of South Africa’s coolest wine regions, the estate focuses on wines defined by freshness, finesse and purity of fruit.

At the tasting, La Brune will present four wines, including their flagship La Brune Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, alongside wines from The Valley range, which highlight the character and diversity of Elgin’s vineyards.

Roodekrantz Wines – Rising Star Table

Roodekrantz Wines is a boutique South African producer dedicated to preserving and showcasing exceptional old-vine vineyards. Established in 2015 by the Burger and Morkel families, the project focuses particularly on Chenin Blanc sourced from heritage vineyard sites across the Cape.

On the Rising Star table, they will be pouring the remarkable Donkermaan Chenin Blanc, produced from 47-year-old bush vines planted in 1976. The wine combines vibrant fruit with texture and minerality, reflecting the character of these historic dry-farmed vineyards.

Curated by Tim Atkin MW, one of the world’s leading wine critics and commentators on South African wine, the tasting brings together producers featured in his annual South Africa report. The event offers a focused overview of the country’s most exciting wineries, from established names to emerging talents, with many of the winemakers in attendance.
