Welcome to the latest in our new series of audio interviews, where we hand the producer the microphone and allow them to tell us all about their winery and individual wines.
This time, it’s Rodrigo Martins, winemaker at Quinta da Silveira, Portugal, presenting his wines.
Quinta da Silveira has been owned by the same family for the past couple of centuries. Silveira boasts 70 hectares of vineyards with the best varieties used for the production of Port and Douro DOC wines. Over recent years they have built a new winery and are producing wines of the highest order. Winemaker Rodrigo Martins enjoys using traditional methods including grapes crushed by feet and fermented in traditional open tanks (lagares) using only natural yeasts.
