Château Croix D’Allons
Located in Bandol, the most prestigious appellation of Provence, this small family estate was founded in 1924 by Philippe Damiano’s grand parents, Pierre and Maria. Grown on very ancient geological formations of the Triassic, the vines are naturally sheltered from the cold north wind ‘Mistral’, so the grapes can achieve optimum ripeness. This is particularly important when growing Mourvedre, the main variety planted on the estate. When Philippe took over, he converted his 9 hectares of vineyards to organic culture. Helped by his wife Florence, he only makes one red and rosé from Mourvedre, Grenache and Cinsault and one white from Clairette and Ugny Blanc. His wines are classic Bandols, full-bodied and rich with spicy and earthy character.
