Château La Hase

Owned by Jean-Yves Millaire, Château La Hase is a small, boutique estate located near Fronsac with one hectare of 45-year-old vines. The varieties are Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, and they are grown with the same care as a Grand Cru: no weedkillers, ploughing, crop-thinning and all hand-picked. The estate is named after ‘La Hase’, a female hare, in honour of M. Millaire’s grandfather who taught him how to hunt. The wine - aged for ten months in French oak - is organic and biodynamic.
