Picollo Ernesto is a family-owned winery located in the town of Gavi in northern Italy. Their 17-acre property is situated in the rolling hills that surround the town, benefitting from a Mediterranean climate and constant maritime breezes, their nine hectares of vineyards are exclusively planted with Cortese, a high-acid white varietal that thrives in the difficult soil and dry climate of the area. The winery was founded in 1945 by Lorenzo Picollo and is now managed by his grandson, Gianlorenzo, who continues to innovate and carry on the family's legacy. The vineyards are predominantly south-facing and located in the prestigious area of Rovereto di Gavi, with a new purchase of two hectares in the Tassarolo zone. Certified organic with no artificial pesticides or herbicides being used.
