One of the most well-known and keenly followed estates in Barolo, some eyebrows were raised when this previously family-owned property was sold to American billionaire businessman Kyle Krause in 2016. Any scepticism over the direction the winery might go in has thankfully been dispelled by the quality of the wines, which have only got better over recent years. Naming Vietti the Vinous Winery of the Year in 2022 (not just in Italy, but worldwide), Antonio Galloni remarked: “To me, Vietti has always been a reference point. All these years later, well, the wines have frankly never been better.”
