About the producer: Château Beychevelle
Château Beychevelle is a 4ème grand cru classé that covers 250 hectares located in the south of St Julien. Today, the estate belongs to Grands Millésimes de France, part of Castel and Suntory groups, and is under Aymar de Baillenx’s managment. The iconic label comes from its ownership by the Duc d’Eperon who was the Admiral of France in the 16th century. The wines produced are generous, deep and well-balanced with a silky texture. Vineyard & Winemaking
The 90 hectares of vines are about 30 years old and planted with 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. The wines are matured in oak barrels (50-60% new) for 18 months.
