About the producer: Taylor’s
Taylor’s is one of the oldest Port houses, founded over three centuries ago in 1692. Based in Oporto and the Douro Valley, the firm remains an independent company, closely involved in all stages of the production of its ports, from vineyard activities to the making, ageing, blending and bottling of the wines. Taylor’s has always been a pioneer in port’s production, being one of the first shippers to offer a 10 & 20 year old Aged Tawny ports and Late Bottled Vintage style. Its Vintage ports are well renown around the world especially their prestigious Quinta de Vargellas Vinha Velha. View our selection.
Vineyards & Winemaking
Grapes producing Taylor’s Vintage ports are sourced from the finest vines of the firm’s own quintas or estates; Vargellas (including over 100 years old vines from Vinha Velha’s vineyard), Terra Feita and Junco. Traditional foot treading continues to be used to produce port from Taylor’s own vineyards, which includes all of the firm’s Vintage Ports. Mechanical treading is used for other ports.
