Product description
Premier Grand Cru Classé, Barsac. The appellation sits on a limestone and clay plateau with shallow topsoils, producing wines of greater tension and minerality than much of Sauternes. Semillon dominant, with Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle. Harvested by six manual passes, 13 September to 3 November 2010, selecting botrytised fruit at peak concentration. Fermented in barrel; aged 18 months in 100% French oak. Bottled at the estate in June 2012. Ripe exotic and citrus fruits, preserved apricot, vanilla and subtle florals on the nose. Fleshy and round on the palate, with fine balance between richness and freshness. The finish is dense, lingering and precise.
