Product description
Miguel Merino created his own winery in a restored farmhouse where he built a small vinification plant and barrel-ageing cellar. He started to buy grapes grown on small plots near Briones to produce well-made, modern wines and now owns and runs one of the smallest, youngest and most prestigious wineries in Spain.
Sourced from vineyards planted in the 60’s, fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged for 19 months in American oak. The nose has a great intensity of deep blackcurrant fruits with notes of vanilla and leather. Complex, well structured and persistent on the palate with smooth tannins. – DWM, June 2018. Received 17pts from Jancis Robinson at our fine wine tasting in November 2018.
