Product description
Founded in the 1940s by Henri Martin, Château Gloria distinguishes itself by assembling plots from neighboring Grand Cru estates. Under the stewardship of Jean-Louis Triaud, the 50-hectare vineyard in Saint-Julien embodies a distinctive patchwork heritage.
Château Gloria was established in the 1950s by the late Henri Martin, who also served as the régisseur of Château Latour. Although it does not appear in the 1855 classification, it undoubtedly would if the classification were ever revised. Together with its esteemed counterpart, Château Saint-Pierre, the quality at Château Gloria has seen remarkable improvements in recent years, solidifying its reputation as a top performer in Saint-Julien. The vineyard spans 50 hectares, with plantings of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot. It is often regarded as Saint-Julien’s best value.
The wine bursts forth with aromas of warm redcurrants, blackcurrant pastilles, and tar, complemented by hints of chargrill and bay leaves. Medium-bodied, the palate is soft and savory, brimming with black and red berry flavors, culminating in a mineral-laced finish.
