The estate spans 47 hectares of vineyards in St Estèphe, featuring over 90 plots adjacent to prestigious neighbours like Cos d’Estournel. Two-thirds of the vineyard thrives on well-drained soils rich in coarse gravel. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats, maintained at 31-33ºC. The young wine then ages in oak barrels, one-third of which are new, for 15 months, with 40% of the barrels being new. enticing aromas of ripe blackberries, cedar, and a touch of vanilla. The palate is full-bodied with rich, velvety tannins, balanced acidity, and flavours of dark fruits and hints of spice, culminating in a long, delicious finish.

About the producer: Château Lilian Ladouys

Château Lilian Ladouys can trace its history back to the 16th century, when it went by the name of Chateau La Doys. The most recent era for the estate began in 2008 when it was purchased by Jacky Lorenzetti, also the owner of Ch. Pedesclaux and Ch. D’Issan which have both seen quality, reputation and demand increase since his purchase. Already known as a producer of excellent wine at relatively modest prices, 2018 marks a new chapter for this Cru Bourgeois estate, with the purchase of the excellent vineyards of Tour de Pez and Clauzet. Thanks to the appellation’s limestone-clay subsoils, its power is balanced out by a wonderful sensation of freshness.
