About the producer
About the producer: Château Lynch Bages
Château Lynch Bages is an excellent wine which consistently outperforms its fifth growth classification and is regularly ranked in the same league as second growths. The story began in 1749 with Thomas Lynch, son of an Irishman from Galway who worked as a merchant in Bordeaux. Later the Cayrou family, who then owned the domaine, leased the vineyard to Jean-Charles Cazes, a farmer at Château Ormes de Pez at the time. He later purchased both properties and Lynch-Bages has been run by the Cazes family ever since. In the 1930’s JC Cazes defined the style of Lynch Bages and today the wine’s distinctive character has earned it a place amongst Pauillac’s greatest. View our selection.
