Product description
Côtes du Rhône AOC already has the reputation to offer some of the best value wines in France and even some premium reds but, this is especially true with Domaine Les Hautes Cances. Located around the village of Cairanne, not far from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, this small family estate, was recently acquired by Domaine Pierre Amadieu. Former owners, Annne-Marie and Jean-Marie Astart, hand crafted this exceptional wines from old vines and low yields (in some cases as low as 18 hectolitres per hectare, half the average yield in the Rhône) so it would be an understatement to say they are passionate about what they do.
Sourced from 50 years old vines on average, aged for 12 months in old Burgundian barrels and made with Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan. Is this Chateauneuf du Pape in disguise? A traditional wine with lots of cherry fruits alongside savoury, spicy, and earthy notes. Full-bodied with soft round tannins. Perfect with grilled meat!
