Quinta do Noval is the only historic Port wine shipper to bear the name of its vineyard. Founded in 1715, the firm was acquired in 1993 by French insurance company AXA, who also owns Disznókő in Tokaj – Hungary, and Château Pichon Baron in Pauillac. Since then, 100 hectares of vines were replanted with each plot planted in single varietal block suited to the terroir according to altitude, exposition, and the type of planting required. This allow them to pick the optimum time to harvest each parcel. View our selection.
Located in Cima Corgo, the vineyard which is entirely A classified, is planted with the noble grape varieties of the Douro: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Francisca, Sousão. Ports are aged for at least 2 years.
Alongside their prestigious vintage they make Ruby, Noval Black, LBV, Tawny and Colheita port. They now also produce red wines; Quinta do Noval, Cedro Do Noval, Labrador Syrah and Touriga Nacional.
