Product description
Lay, the Moselle Franconian word for slate/rock, reflects the steep, south-facing slopes (50–70%) of the Bernkasteler Lay vineyard. Vines are in grey-blue Devonian slate soil. The proximity to the Mosel River enhances ripening through reflected sunlight. Hand-harvested grapes undergo meticulous selection. Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine matures on fine lees. Vibrant citrus and stone fruit aromas, layered with delicate floral and slate-like minerality. The palate is precise and structured, showcasing ripe peach, lime zest, and a saline edge. Rich texture, leading to a long, elegant finish.
