Meerlust Estate is one of the most esteemed estates in Stellenbosch, having been owned by the Myburgh family since 1756. Located fifteen kilometers south of Stellenbosch, all their wines are crafted exclusively from grapes grown on the estate. Cellar Master Chris Williams has honed his expertise in Bordeaux alongside the renowned oenologist Michel Rolland.

The 2018 Rubicon is yet another superb expression of this iconic Cape wine. It boasts a very deep and youthful color with an intense, almost purple hue. The nose reveals a classic Rubicon profile, with hints of violets, ripe plum, cedar wood, and intense spiciness. A typical liquorice note and stony minerality are also evident. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and structured by beautifully sleek, ripe tannins that restrain the vibrant dark fruit characteristic of this vintage. The wine lingers on the palate with creamy fruit and mouth-filling linear tannins.
