Product description
Nestled in Montà d’Alba, amidst the chalky Roero hills of Piedmont, the Pelassa family estate spans 16 hectares of vineyards dedicated to the grapes best suited to the land: Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Arneis. The winery, established in 1960 by the late Mario Pelassa—an industry veteran with over 50 years of experience—is now expertly managed by his sons, Davide and Daniele. While they honor traditional vinification methods, they also embrace modern winemaking techniques.
The wine greets you with upfront aromas of ripe cherries, raspberry liqueur, sweet and savory spices, dried rose, and dusty earth. On the palate, it is lush and fruit-forward, offering lavish notes of Amarena cherry, balanced by soft tannins and the vibrant acidity characteristic of Nebbiolo.
Pleasant, floral nose, together with notes of dried strawberry and fresh champignon. Medium-to full-bodied with a silky texture and plenty of fruit. Lightly firm tannins provide extra length. Quite a flamboyant red that’s hard not to like. Drinkable now, but better from 2023
