    Product description

Château La Dominique boasts a rich and storied past, earning a prestigious reputation in the 19th century before experiencing a decline—until its revival in 1969, when visionary entrepreneur Clément Fayat acquired the estate. Under his leadership and with the expertise of renowned consultant Michel Rolland, La Dominique reclaimed its place among Bordeaux’s finest.

Nestled beside the legendary Cheval Blanc, La Dominique’s 22-hectare vineyard flourishes in a diverse terroir of limestone, gravel, sand, and clay. The estate’s vines are predominantly Merlot (80%), complemented by Cabernet Franc (15%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%), resulting in wines of depth and elegance.

Its second wine, Relais de La Dominique, is a true expression of charm and finesse. With an enticing bouquet of ripe red and black fruits intertwined with delicate spice, it offers a velvety mouthfeel and soft, inviting tannins. While delightfully approachable now, it also possesses the potential to evolve beautifully over the next decade.

About the producer: Château La Dominique

Located in Saint Emilion, next to the notorious Château Cheval Blanc, the estate ‘La Dominique’ was named after the Caribbean island in the 18th century. After successive ownerships, Château la Dominique was finally purchased by the Fayat family in 1969. They hired famous oenologist Michel Rolland as a consultant back then and, in 2013, invested in a new cellar in order to deliver optimal maturation potential for their wines. View our selection.
