Product description
Grapes from 35-year-old vines in Fronsac. Hand-harvested with manual and optical sorting. Fermentation took place in 500-litre French oak barrels, with 30% being new. The wine was then aged in 225-litre French oak barrels for 18 months, with 30% being new and 70% being one-year-old oak barrels. Aromatic nose, floral notes, dark bramble-fruit and cherry and a wonderfully fresh mineral driven edge. Fine tannins and well-balanced acidity, pure and ripe fruit – blackberry and raspberry and just a touch of pepper spice and cedar on the finish.
“A delicious wine in the 2020 vintage, juicy and ripe strawberry and raspberry fruit, immediately appealing with an edge of smoke and a kick of freshness, great Fronsac typicality. Owner Sally Evans is turning this 3ha estate into a name to follow after just a few vintages."
