    Product description

Château La Hase is a tiny, boutique estate located near the right bank town of Fronsac. It is made from 100% Merlot grown on one hectare of 45-year-old vines farmed organically and biodynamically.

This beautiful Bordeaux is just starting to show wonderful tertiary hints. It has aromas of wild blackberries, damsons, and fresh figs, alongside hints of violets and classic cigar box notes. The palate is dense and full-bodied with layers of blackcurrant fruit, dried herbs, and earthy hints. Drinking sensationally now.

About the producer: Château La Hase

Owned by Jean-Yves Millaire, Château La Hase is a small, boutique estate located near Fronsac with one hectare of 45-year-old vines. The varieties are Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, and they are grown with the same care as a Grand Cru: no weedkillers, ploughing, crop-thinning and all hand-picked. The estate is named after ‘La Hase’, a female hare, in honour of M. Millaire’s grandfather who taught him how to hunt. The wine – aged for ten months in French oak – is organic and biodynamic.
