Product description
Grown on the gentle north-facing slopes of Waiheke Island, sheltered from the cool southerly winds. The red Bordeaux varietals thrive in this environment, with an average vine age of 30 years and yields of 25-35 hL/Ha. All grapes are hand-harvested.
This wine is crafted in small batches, with extended maceration on the skins for one month to enhance depth and complexity. After fermentation, it is basket-pressed directly into barrels and aged for 12 months in 100% French oak, with 60% being new. This wine is rich and full-bodied, with concentrated flavours of blackberry, cassis, and dark cherry, complemented by notes of cedar, tobacco, and spice. Velvety tannins and balanced acidity create a smooth, long-lasting finish.
