Grown on the estate Vina del Mar block overlooking Onetangi, this Malbec is planted on a steep, northeast-facing slope. Low cropping and yields of 15-20 hL/Ha from vines with an average age of 25 years. All grapes are hand-harvested.
The “Black Moon” Malbec is made in small batches, with extended maceration of one month on the skins. The wine is basket-pressed directly to barrel and aged for 12 months in 100% French oak, with 50% new oak. Deep, concentrated palate with rich blackberry, plum, and dark cherry flavours. The extended maceration provides a velvety texture and depth, complemented by hints of vanilla, spice, and subtle oak. Well-structured tannins and a long, smooth finish.
