Product description
Located in the heart of Listrac-Médoc, Château Fonréaud is a historic estate dating back to the 19th century. Its name derives from the term Fontaine Royale, referencing a nearby spring legend tied to royalty. The vineyard spans 32 hectares, planted on a mix of gravelly soils ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, as well as clay-limestone soils perfect for white varietals like Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Muscadelle.
Sourced from 4.5 hectares in Listrac-Médoc, the vineyard comprises 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 25% Sémillon, and 15% Muscadelle. The vines are cultivated sustainably on clay-limestone soils, with hand-harvesting ensuring optimal grape quality.
Fermentation occurs in barrels, with 45% new oak, followed by ageing on lees to enhance texture and complexity. Aromas of citrus fruits, yellow apple, and a touch of vanilla. The palate is full-bodied with a smooth texture, leading to a long finish.
