Product description
La Ínsula is a tiny plot of just 0.1 hectare, planted ungrafted with pre-phylloxera Grenache on the sandbank of the River Ebro in Briones. Hand-harvested in small crates. Only one 500-litre oak barrel is produced each year. Fermentation occurs in a small stainless steel tank, then the wine is racked into the 500-litre oak barrel for malolactic fermentation and aged for 14 months. Just 630 bottles are produced. Vibrant and complex aromas of ripe red berries, floral notes, and subtle spices. On the palate, it is elegant and balanced, with bright acidity, fine tannins, and a hint of minerality. The wine’s refined texture leads to a long, silky finish.
