    Product description

The vines are grown on limestone and clay soils, situated on the Côte de Beaune. Sustainable farming practices are used, with careful attention to yield management and the protection of biodiversity.

After hand harvesting and sorting, the grapes undergo fermentation in a combination of stainless steel and oak. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (20% new), with a light stirring of the lees. The wine is bottled unfiltered. Aromas of white flowers, citrus zest, and a touch of minerality. The palate is balanced and elegant, with flavours of ripe pear, lemon curd, and a hint of vanilla. The finish is long, fresh, and precise.

  • About the producer

About the producer: Domaine Bachelet Monnot

Domaine Bachelet Monnot is considered as one of the rising stars in Burgundy. In an area steeped in tradition, it is rare to come across something new and exciting but here is one. Marc and Alexandre Bachelet studied at the Lycee Viticole in Beaune, and then gained extensive experience working in family and other Burgundy estates before setting up their own Domaine in 2005. Although they respect local traditions, they are determined innovators and have adopted a labour intensive approach to winemaking where no herbicides are allowed and strict de-budding is carried out in order to control yields. Receiving great reviews from notorious wine critics including Stephen Tanzer, this Domaine is one to watch. View our selection.

    Vineyard & Winemaking

The estate spreads over 10 hectares of vine and is planted with both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. All Grand Cru and red Maranges are aged in oak barrel of which 50% is new.

    Wines Produced

Bourgogne AOC (white and red), Maranges (white and red), Santenay (red) and Saint Aubin, Puligny Montrachet, Chassagne Montrachet, Bâtard and Montrachet (all white).
