    Product description

    The vineyard is located in the town of Gratallops, classified as Vi de Vila (a sub-zone of Priorat DOQ). Vines planted in 1910 yield very low yields. Grapes are hand-harvested. Fermented in Stockinger Austrian oak foudres of 2,500l with indigenous yeast and ripe stems (10%). Grenache ages in 870l Austrian oak foudres, and Carignan in 300l French oak barrels, new and second year, for 10 months. Limited production of 4,666 bottles Complex, refined notes of dark fruits, wild berries, cassis, pencil shavings, dark chocolate, wet stones, forest floor with a cedarwood undertone. Intense, powerful yet elegant, fresh and precise. Lingering finish with great potential to age further.

    Josep Grau Viticultor is the personal project of Josep Grau Closa, who swapped the life of a stockbroker for that of an oenologist and winery owner. Since the project’s inception in 2003, Josep has bravely forged his own identity as a wine maker who is totally committed to his wonderful and wild surroundings. With a house style which is far removed from fads or trends, rather a commitment to authentically reflect Montsant’s unique terroir through varieties like Garnacha and Carignan.

    SALE OR RETURN is available by prior arrangement only and for orders of 96 bottles or more. All returns are at the customer’s expense. Returns must be made within 28 days of original delivery and goods must be in a resalable condition. We reserve the right to only refund up to 25% of the original order. For further details please contact customer services 020 8858 6011.

    CANCELLATIONS can be made within seven working days from receipt of delivery, provided that all wines are unopened and in their original condition. To cancel an order customers should contact the Customer Service team on 020 8858 6011 or email orders@davy.co.uk. It is your responsibility to keep the wines safe and in their original condition until collection is made.

    TASTING CANCELLATIONS – full refunds can only be made where at least 7 days’ notice is given prior to the event date. Refunds will only be given after this time if we are able to re-sell your tickets. In the event that a tasting is cancelled, Davy’s shall offer customers a full refund.
