    Te Kano, meaning ‘The Seed’ in Maori, is more than just a winery—it’s the heart of a family’s dedication to the land, rooted in Central Otago’s breathtaking landscape. This boutique, family-owned vineyard specializes in crafting small-batch, artisanal Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris.

    The Lloyd family believes that what we plant today will blossom for generations to come. Driven by their passion for sustainability and rejuvenation, they follow organic practices, nurturing their estate-grown fruit from vine to bottle with meticulous care.

    Te Kano’s wines celebrate the distinctiveness of three iconic Otago subregions—Bannockburn, Northburn, and Waitaki—each sip reflecting the unique terroir of its origin. It’s more than wine; it’s a celebration of nature, legacy, and craftsmanship.

    Rich and creamy with spiced stone-fruit flavours, savoury lees complexity and tight balancing acidity which manages to just hold the otherwise broad palate together. A mid-term proposition with a lot of weight on the finish. 2024-2032.

It’s medium-bodied, fleshy and delicious, with powdery tannins that spread across the palate. Excellent concentration and length, with smoky hints at the end. Drink now or hold. Screw cap.

    Te Kano, the Maori word for The Seed, is a family-owned wine estate in Central Otago primarily producing artisanal Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. The Lloyd family are passionate about the land and committed to its rejuvenation to remind us that the seeds we plant today will blossom for generations to come. Following organic practices, they produce wines that reflect their terroir and express the characteristics of the distinct sub-regions of Central Otago.

    SALE OR RETURN is available by prior arrangement only and for orders of 96 bottles or more. All returns are at the customer’s expense. Returns must be made within 28 days of original delivery and goods must be in a resalable condition. We reserve the right to only refund up to 25% of the original order. For further details please contact customer services 020 8858 6011.

    CANCELLATIONS can be made within seven working days from receipt of delivery, provided that all wines are unopened and in their original condition. To cancel an order customers should contact the Customer Service team on 020 8858 6011 or email orders@davy.co.uk. It is your responsibility to keep the wines safe and in their original condition until collection is made.

    TASTING CANCELLATIONS – full refunds can only be made where at least 7 days’ notice is given prior to the event date. Refunds will only be given after this time if we are able to re-sell your tickets. In the event that a tasting is cancelled, Davy’s shall offer customers a full refund.
