Product description
This blend incorporates fruit from three distinct vineyards: 25% Bannockburn, 8% Waitaki, and 68% Northburn. The Chardonnay is sourced from clones 1066, Mendoza, and 95 and is hand-harvested. Whole bunch pressed directly into barrels (20% new), with a high degree of solids. A mix of large-format puncheons and smaller barriques adds texture. Wild fermentation and lees stirring of selected parcels. Malolactic fermentation in barrel. Bright and elegant with aromas of tropical fruit, citrus, and subtle floral notes. The palate is vibrant and textured, featuring crisp acidity and a hint of flintiness, leading to a creamy, layered finish with a touch of oak.
Rich and creamy with spiced stone-fruit flavours, savoury lees complexity and tight balancing acidity which manages to just hold the otherwise broad palate together. A mid-term proposition with a lot of weight on the finish. 2024-2032.
