Product description
From Valdiruela, one of Gumiel de Mercado’s most celebrated and historic vineyard sites in Ribera del Duero. Limestone soils, 20-year-old vines, hand harvested, and farmed with an organic sensibility, though without formal certification. Half the harvest is fermented as whole clusters, half destemmed, both with native yeasts in a 50hl French oak vat. Malolactic fermentation follows in the same vessel, before a year’s ageing in a 30hl foudre within a 15th-century underground cellar. Pure Tinto Fino from old limestone-rooted vines. The nose and palate show dark fruit, earthy spice and a floral lift from the whole clusters. Tannins are firm yet refined, acidity is fresh, and the finish is long and composed.
