Product description
Vineyards are situated at 280 metres above sea level. The Pinot Noir is sourced from clones consisting of 50% PN 115, 40% PN 113, and 10% PN 777. 80% whole bunch fermented. 10 days of pre-soaking followed by spontaneous fermentation in small custom-made stainless steel fermenters, with two extractions per day. Aged for 9 months in Burgundian oak barrels (500L, 300L, and 228L), lightly toasted. Aromas of strawberry alongside notes of forest floor and mushrooms. Linear, tight with a mineral core coated with some beautiful texture and red fruits. Long pure finish.
Nico Grobler sources his Pinot Noir from a densely planted vineyard with 10,000 vines per hectare, using the 115 and 113 clones. Fermented with 40% whole bunches and aged in 25% new wood, it's an earthy, concentrated, structured style of Pinot Noir with layers of plum, black cherry and forest floor and a ferrous undertone. 2026-32
