Once owned by the Archbishop of Tarragona, Viña Albares’ vineyards lie on the old pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostel and are planted with old vine producing fruits of excellent quality.
Made with 100% Mencia sourced from 150 year old vines and aged in French oak barrels for 14 months, then 6 months in tanks and another 12 months in bottle. This is truly a great expression of Spain’s original grape variety. Black cherries and plum shine through on the nose leading to a complex palate filled with fruit, wild herbs and savoury spice. Limited edition.
Spanish red wine from Bierzo in Castilla Y Leon Spain, made with Mencia.
