Master of Wine, Jancis Robinson, calls the nose ‘the single most important stage in wine tasting…’ – we invite you to join us for an evening of aromas, to discover how to ‘nose’ (smell) a wine, what you’re smelling and what it means. Tasting with aromatic wines, it’s easier to pick up the nuances of particular grape varieties, where they’re from and what they might taste like in the mouth.
You’ll be welcomed with a glass of Hungarian sparkling Furmint, and we’ll explore five aromatic varieties from classics like Sauvignon Blanc to lesser-known grapes like Bacchus and Furmint. We’ll discuss their origins and perfect food pairings for each.
The tasting starts promptly at 7pm and lasts around one-and-a-half hours. Bread, cheese, and olives are provided during the tasting. Due to the nibbles being communal we are unable to cater for dietary requirements.
