Product description
Artadi was founded in 1986 by a group of winegrower in Rioja Alavesa who wished to produce authentic wines with a distinctive character. Today they owned three wineries: Bodegas y Viñedos Artadi in Rioja, Bodegas y Viñedos Artazu in Navarra and Bodegas y Viñedos El Sequé in Alicante.
Izar-Leku, meaning the place of the stars, is sourced from 60 years old Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Beltza grown on slopes of clay soils with slate and basalt. Using the traditional method the wine was aged for 36 months on the lees. Aromas of citrus and peppermint. Creamy texture on the palate with an attractive saline minerality wonderfully balanced by a sharp acidity. A complex sparkling wine full of character.

It's super tasty, with depth and complexity, quite surprising for such a young wine, sharp and long. What makes it stand apart from the majority of sparkling wines is the salinity. Really surprising! 13,000 bottles produced.
