Made by Alex Milner of Natte Valleij, this wine is the epitome of Chenin Blanc from South Africa. Sourced from dry land bush vines planted in 1985 and grown in Darling, the grapes are vinified with indegenous yeasts.
Barrel fermented and matured for nine months on the lees. Complex nose with ripe pear aromas alongside quince, ripe apricots and notes of spice. Very elegant on the palate with a rich texture well-balanced with an intense minerality.
...This is GORGEOUS! A fiercely beautiful fistful of clementine and quince, ripe apricots, dried peaches; fruit laced with cumin and a very subtle note of liquorice. Long, long, long, and achingly orchestral, in the way that it builds in the mouth, layering, folding, spiking textures of vibrations and tempos over and into and through each other....- 18/20 Tamlyn Currin for Jancis Robinson
