Barolo DOCG 2012 Pio Cesare

A classic Barolo with savoury notes, this is a full bodied wine which has plenty of power and length. Crushed berries, floral notes and a hint of hazelnut. This wine has a very long life ahead it.

“This is a young Barolo that builds on the palate with super silky tannins and fantastic pure and delicious fruit. Hints of hazelnut, plum and dark berry character. Full and polished tannins. Better in 2019 but so delicious now.” – 95 pts James Suckling

Italian still red wine from Piedmont Italy, made with Nebbiolo.

About the producer: Pio Cesare

Pio Cesare was founded in 1881 by Cesare Pio who was one of the first people to realise and believe in the quality of Piedmont’s wine, particularly in Barolo. Today Pio Boffa, the fourth generation, leads and directs the company following the philosophy of his ancestors, with minimal intervention in the vineyard, low yielding and obsessive selection of grapes. Owning some of the best vineyard in Alba, including in Serralunga and Monforte, Pio Cesare is known for blending the different characteristics of each plot in order to produce premium wines that represent the styles of each appellation as a whole.
