About the producer: Bouchard Père et Fils
This house was established in Beaune in 1731 by Michel Bouchard Pere & Fils and, forty years later, Joseph Bouchard purchased the first vineyards in the region of Volnay. Following the French revolution the firm added more plot located in some of the best village of the Côte d’Or. The estate kept growing throughout the 19th and 20th century and today, in its 9th generation, Bouchard is one of the oldest domaine of Burgundy and the biggest in the Côte d’Or. Vineyard & Winemaking
The 130 hectares of vines includes 12 Grand Cru with 4 monopolies and 74 Premier Cru. No less than 458 vineyards compose the estate. Both traditional and innovative methods are used in the cellar.
