    Located in Barossa, Bethany’s vineyards are facing west and benefit from cooling gully breezes during spring and summer. This extends the ripening season allowing the grapes to achieve the perfect levels of sugar and acid.

    The ’First Village’ label tells the story of the village’s establishment in the German folkloric paper-cutting art ‘Scherenschnitte’. Bright aromas of red cherry fruits with earthy notes. Full-bodied and dense on the palate with lovely, chewy fruit and finely grained tannins leading to a long and complex finish.

    About the producer: Bethany Wines

    The Schrapel family was one of the first to settle in the Barossa Valley and planted their first vineyards in 1852. 130 years later, fifth generation brothers Robert and Geoff established Bethany Wines. Using minimal intervention, they produce exceptional wines that reflects the nature of Barossa’s microclimate. Facing west, their vineyards benefit from cooling gully breezes during spring and summer which extend the ripening season and allow the grapes to achieve the right level of sugar and acid. Today the winery is run by Tania Schrapel, Geoff’s daughter, who continues the legacy of the business.

    Returns

    SALE OR RETURN is available by prior arrangement only and for orders of 96 bottles or more. All returns are at the customer’s expense. Returns must be made within 28 days of original delivery and goods must be in a resalable condition. We reserve the right to only refund up to 25% of the original order. For further details please contact customer services 020 8858 6011.

    CANCELLATIONS can be made within seven working days from receipt of delivery, provided that all wines are unopened and in their original condition. To cancel an order customers should contact the Customer Service team on 020 8858 6011 or email orders@davy.co.uk. It is your responsibility to keep the wines safe and in their original condition until collection is made.

    TASTING CANCELLATIONS – full refunds can only be made where at least 7 days’ notice is given prior to the event date. Refunds will only be given after this time if we are able to re-sell your tickets. In the event that a tasting is cancelled, Davy’s shall offer customers a full refund.
