In Bond case of Auxey-Duresses Rouge 1er Cru Les Duresses, Domaine Prunier-Bonheur 2015.
Being the fifth generation of winegrowers in the family, Pascal Brunier took over his dad’s estate in the 1980s but today the Domaine Pascal Brunier-Bonheur bears the name of both Pascal and his wife Christine Bonheur. The estate spreads over 8 hectares across Saint-Romain towards Auxey-Duresses, Monthelie, Meursault and Pommard. Combining tradition and modernity their wines are known for their elegance, generosity and their reasonable prices, something that can be difficult to find in Burgundy.
“Bold, racy and powerful, with present tannins, the 2015 Auxey-Duresses Les Duresses is another terrific wine from Pascal Prunier. A dollop of whole clusters add aromatic lift and freshness. Above all else, the 2015 is a wine that speaks to balance. I would prefer to give the wine a year or two to integrate some of the tannins. Nevertheless, the 2015 is promising. 88-91 points.” Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com, June 2017.
