Châteauneuf-du-Pape ‘Chante le Merle’ Vieilles Vignes, Bosquet des Papes 2016 is available to purchase in bond.
Located in Châteauneuf du Pape, Domaine Bosquet des Papes is owned by the Boiron, a vintners family that goes back five generations. Each of them extended the estate while keeping in mind the preservation of the terroir and in 1965 Maurice, 4th generation, founded the estate Bosquet des Papes. Today his son Nicolas runs the domaine alongside his wife Jeanne-Claire. Using traditional wine making method, they aim to produce wines that require long period maturing in the cellar in order to be appreciated. Their wines are usually structured with firm tannin.
“Deep ruby. Mineral-accented cherry, blackberry and licorice scents pick up a suave incense nuance as the wine opens up. Juicy and expansive on the palate, offering bitter cherry, black raspberry and floral pastille flavors that are firmed and lifted by a spine of tangy acidity. Fleshes out and deepens with air and finishes impressively long and smooth, displaying harmonious tannins and a late suggestion of candied lavender. 93-95 points” Josh Raynolds, vinous.com, April 2018.
Offered for sale, in bond. Price shown is per case (6x75cl bottles) and excludes delivery, UK duty and VAT which will be charged at the prevailing rate when the wine is released from bond. Please note, no further discounts apply to fine wines purchased online in bond. Reward points do not accrue on fine wine IB orders, nor may they be used to purchase fine wines.
