Châteauneuf-du-Pape ‘Etienne Gonnet’, Domaine Font de Michelle 2016 is now available in bond.
Guillaume Gonnet’s winemaking is a return to the style of wines favoured by his father, showing tremendous purity of fruit with very low intervention. The Cuvee Etienne Gonnet is named after Guillaume’s grandfather, a one-time mayor of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Made from very old vines, some more than 110 years of age. 70% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre, 15% Syrah.
“Cask sample. Dark black fruit, as if it has been condensed and concentrated. Wonderful purity on the palate, with supple tannin and rich cocoa aromas. Finishes with a lighter touch than expected, but that’s no bad thing for Châteauneuf! 17 points” Richard Hemming MW, jancisrobinson.com, November 2017.
Offered for sale, in bond. Price shown is per case (6x75cl bottles) and excludes delivery, UK duty and VAT which will be charged at the prevailing rate when the wine is released from bond. Please note, no further discounts apply to fine wines purchased online in bond. Reward points do not accrue on fine wine IB orders, nor may they be used to purchase fine wines.
