    Product description

    Brothers Bertrand and Vincent Marchesseau have rigorous approach the vineyard and minimal intervention in the winemaking process. Their wines are a true reflection of the terroir and are all certified organic.

    Funambule, meaning tightrope walker, is sourced from the atypical soil (for the area) of clay and limestone located between slopes and the Loire river. 10% of the wine was aged in old oak barrels for three months. Aromas of red fruits with toasted and spicy notes. Round on the palate and well balanced with the delicate fruits and tannins. Good length.

    About the producer: Domaine Bertrand and Vincent Marchesseau

    Brothers Bertrand and Vincent Marchesseau, third generation of winemakers, took over the family property in 2001. Today they own vineyards in Bourgueil (14 ha), Chinon (5 ha) and St Nicolas de Bourgueil (3 ha), all certified organic since 2011. Bertrand is dedicated to the vineyards and winemaking while Vincent is in charge of the maturation and trade. A rigorous approach in the vineyard (analysis of the soil, grassing, thinning, leaf stripping…) and minimal yet precise intervention in the winemaking process (maceration only at the start of the fermentation and micro bullage at the end) means their wines are a true reflection of the terroir.

    Returns

    SALE OR RETURN is available by prior arrangement only and for orders of 96 bottles or more. All returns are at the customer’s expense. Returns must be made within 28 days of original delivery and goods must be in a resalable condition. We reserve the right to only refund up to 25% of the original order. For further details please contact customer services 020 8858 6011.

    CANCELLATIONS can be made within seven working days from receipt of delivery, provided that all wines are unopened and in their original condition. To cancel an order customers should contact the Customer Service team on 020 8858 6011 or email orders@davy.co.uk. It is your responsibility to keep the wines safe and in their original condition until collection is made.

    TASTING CANCELLATIONS – full refunds can only be made where at least 7 days’ notice is given prior to the event date. Refunds will only be given after this time if we are able to re-sell your tickets. In the event that a tasting is cancelled, Davy’s shall offer customers a full refund.
