“Celebris” is Gosset’s top cuvée and only released in the best years. A blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir harvested by hand from their best sites, the wine is fermented in stainless steel with no malolactic fermentation. Aging for 10 years in Gosset’s cellars before disgorgement allows for an exceptionally fine, slow development of complex flavours. The wine is not released until Cellar Master Odilon de Varine and the team feel the wine is ready, in fact the 2007 Celebris was released first, before the 2004, “…. an incredibly complex and balanced vintage” comments Odilon.
“An opulent appearance, bright pale gold with emerald green highlights. The bubbles are fine and rise in a thin and persistent ribbon. The nose has ripe aromas of frangipane, Tarte Tatin, honey or salted butteraramel refreshed by scents of pear, pineapple and even citrus fruits such as the kaffir lime or citrus limetta. The palate is open and flawlesswith salty notes followed by complex aromas reminiscent of pear, grapefruit and yuzu.”
