Product description
The Ponsots ‘love wine because it is alive’ and apply biodynamic practices in the vineyard and age their wines in oak barrels which are at least 10 years old. Their Burgundies do require time to be appreciated but when they reach maturity, they are powerful yet elegant wine with great complexity.
Fully matured with griotte cherry fruits, forest floor and earthiness. Good complexity with mineral notes, precise flavours and a velvety texture.
Awards
Deep, saturated ruby-red. Superripe, slightly high-toned aromas of wild blackberry, black cherry and smoke. This, too, is a sweet, superripe fruit bomb, albeit in a rather powerful style and with a firm edge. Ponsot says it's the wine's tannins that give the impression of volatile acidity. Extremely rich for 2006: it will be interesting to follow this.
