Product description
The Ponsots ‘love wine because it is alive’ and apply biodynamic practices in the vineyard and age their wines in oak barrels which are at least 10 years old. Their Burgundies do require time to be appreciated but when they reach maturity, they are powerful yet elegant wine with great complexity.
Fully matured with griotte cherry fruits, forest floor and earthiness. Good complexity with mineral notes, precise flavours and a velvety texture.
Awards
Good full red. Very reserved nose hints at wild cherry, minerals, mocha and game. Fat, dense and silky; classically dry but with superb breadth. Less expressive than the Griottes but very pure and long, finishing with a building whiplash of flavor and compelling lingering perfume. This calls for a good seven or eight years of patience.
